About Me

Having successfully completed my Higher National Diploma (HND) in Complementary Therapies from Inverness College, I have a great deal to offer as an enthusiastic therapist.

In 2005, my life changed dramatically when I gave up my position, as a Personnel Officer, in a private healthcare organisation to return to full time studies to undertake my Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Complementary Therapies. I completed this in July 2006 and returned to college that September to undertake my HND, successfully completing this in July 2007.

Looking back now I realise that I did not really know what I was letting myself in for, I just realised that I needed to more job satisfaction and be able to help people. I did not realise that chemistry, counselling, psychology, diet and nutrition and business studies would be some of the modules that I would study during my two years, thinking that it was a hands on course and I would be dealing with nice smells, rubbing backs and working on feet. I quickly realised that there was a lot of hard work ahead, but also that there was a lot of rewards and experiences to be gained along the way.

Having undertaken a number of case studies, varying from 4 to 10 weeks in duration, each of my case studies has noticed a change and balance within their body. Some more subtler than others, but a change none the less. From reductions in headaches and muscular and joint pain to a client with back pain that has been experienced for several years, with no way to reduce the pain other than sitting and reading or watching TV and within 6 weeks of reflexology this client could return to living a life that was more comfortable and enable everyday tasks to be undertaken again.

Having experienced the benefits that can be gained from Complementary Therapies in the past, I have found my ability to cope with day to day problems has increased, I have more self-confidence, self-belief and I am now more focused in my journey in life.

During different experiences in my life I have found that I have been led to different therapies, so do not worry if you have not yet found the treatment that will give you the greatest benefits. It is out there, you just have to keep on trying.
